While we make cabinetry for homes of all sizes, our passion for Tiny Houses has lead us to specialise in making cabinetry to suit small spaces. We live in a Tiny House, and I have been blogging about them over at 'Tiny House Living in NZ' for a few years.
One of the main differences between regular cabinetry and Tiny House cabinetry that we focus on is the weight. In a Tiny House on wheels, we are restricted by the NZTA rules on how heavy we can be which is currently 3.5tonnes. It sounds like a lot but it quickly adds up with a house load of things. How we help with this restriction is by using lightweight material, and we avoid materials such as MDF.
Another difference is fully utilising all the spaces within the cabinetry for adequate storage. There is limited space in a Tiny House, so we want to have the cabinetry live up to it's full storage potential!
We have been fortunate enough to fit out a number of Tiny Homes including Bryce and Rasa's from Living Big in a Tiny House. A well known Tiny House blogger and YouTuber. They have filmed their Tiny Home, and shared it for us to all enjoy, and it just so happens to be a beautiful showcase of the cabinetry we've made for them. You can check it out here:
